Allo. This is the first draft of the image manipulation procedures for photoshop. As opposed to the tutorial version, I made this as general as possible. Please leave any comments and ideas for improvement(as I am sure there is plenty of room for).

PROCEDURES FOR BASIC IMAGE MANIPULATION IN PHOTOSHOP

OPENING A FILE

Step One: Click on the “file” tab on the top right of the screen.

Step Two: Select the “open” button from the dropdown bar.

Step Three: Browse to the file you are looking for. Common file locations are: My Documents, Desktop, and C:.

Step Four: Double click on the item you wish to open to open it.

SAVING A FILE

Step One: Click on the “file” tab on the top right of the screen.

Step Two: Select the “Save As” button from the dropdown bar.

Step Three: Choose a format to save the file as. Web-Accessible formats include: JPG, GIF, and PNG.

Step Four: Give the file a name in the text box. Do not include the extension.

Step Five: Press the save button.

IMAGE ROTATION

Step One: Select “Image” from the top menu bar.

Step Two: Select “Rotate” from the dropdown menu bar.

Step Three: Choose a direction to rotate or flip the image. For example, to mirror the image, select flip horizontal from the options.

IMAGE RESIZING

Step One: Select “Image” from the top menu bar.

Step Two: Select “Resize” from the dropdown bar.

Step Three: Choose “Image Size” from the pop-out box.

Step Four: Enter a set of sizes, in pixels, inches, or other units of measurement to resize the image to.  By checking the “Constrain Proportions” box at the bottom, proportions can be maintained. IE an image that is square in shape will maintain its straight edges.

Step Five: When finished, press the “Ok” button at the bottom to apply your changes.

CANVAS MANIPULATION

Step One: Select “Image” from the top menu bar.

Step Two: Select “Resize” from the dropdown bar.

Step Three: Choose “Canvas Size” from the pop-out box.

Step Four: Step Four: Enter a set of sizes, in pixels, inches, or other units of measurement to resize the canvas to. The “Anchor Image” function allows you to set a point for the canvas to set itself around, IE if you want to resize the canvas and shrink it around the left side of the image, click the left arrow button in the anchor select box.

Step Five:  When finished, press the “Ok” button at the top right to apply your changes.

IMAGE TRANSFORMATION

Step One: Select “Image” from the top menu bar.

Step Two: Select “Transform” from the dropdown bar.

Step Three:  Choose “Free Transform” from the pop-out box.

Step Four: If prompted, press OK when it asks if you would like to convert your workspace to a layer. This will pop up if you are working in the”Background” layer of an image.

Step Five: Utilizing the buttons around the edges of the layer, resize the image as you see fit.

Word To Your Mother. This is Afro-Morash, with an update on ATC.  Discussions and design for the project have reached a new level of Funkay.  With planning now underway. Its time to get some real work done in this heezy, for reals, my Afro-equipped bretheren.
